Sensational Hits
(Movies that made a share of 20 crore and above in chronological order)

1. Aadi:
This film is released with no expectations. During the making of Aadi, when NTR gave a statement that director Vinayak is another Ramu in making, lots of people trashed it as a run-of-the-mill statement. Nobody really bothered to have faith in Vinayak who was an associate of director Sagar. After the movie is released, this film generated instant hit talk and NTR has turned into a mass icon. Aadi became the turning point of NTR's career and this film has thrown NTR into top bracket - which is only reserved for the top 4 heroes. NTR has proved what he can do if a perfect script is given to him. The unknown producer Nagalakshmi became the luckiest producer. Aadi is a film that showed the stamina of a mass film at Andhra Box Office.

He bought a new house in Jubilee hills worth 3 crores by paying the entire money upfront. He also built 'Chitram House' - a swanky office for Chiram movies banner - in Jubilee Hills. He is on a bigger mission now with another ambitious project 'Nijam' with Mahesh Babu as hero.

3. Indra:
Released when the wildest rumors were making rounds, Chiranjeevi's Indra let its range of success answer those baseless speculations. Chiranjeevi has got a fitting hit that matches his Box Office stamina. This film is touted as the Chiranjeevi's best bet after Devi Films 'Gharana Mogudu' made 10 years back. This film gave a firm platform for Chiranjeevi to nurture and consolidate political ambitions. Wily producer Aswini Dutt's extensive publicity blitz helped this film to get its best ever opening. Indra is officially declared as the Number One film in terms of Box office collections of Andhra Pradesh.

4. Idiot:
When Poori Jagannath made 'Itlu Sravani Subramanyam' a success with Ravi Teja as hero, the same producer announced 'Venkat BA' as the second venture in this combination. But all the plans went haywire when Poori Jagannath's Kannada film 'Appu' became an industry hit in Karnataka. Poori Jannath remade the same story with the same heroine (Rakshita) in Telugu as 'Idiot'. This film has become a turning point in Ravi Teja's career. The hardwork Ravi Teja has been putting since his entry into film industry 10 years back has finally paid its dividends.

3. Lahiri Lahiri Lahirilo:
The dynamic director YVS Chowdary did not develop depression when the producers went back on their words to make movies with him. The strong-willed director started a production house named 'Bommarillu' and pooled in money from friends and relatives. He faced all kinds of dire situations while making L3 and the budget overshot beyond his capacity. When buyers did not come forward to buy L3, YVS had to release the film on his own through Mayuri distribution. And all his sweat translated into money and got back profits to all the people who are involved with the trade aspects of L3. And finally 'Bommarillu' banner has established as a banner with good brand image. Hari Krishna's images and histrionics helped the film. Keeravani's music and Chintapally Ramana's dialogues are big assets.

4. Manmadhudu:
During the 100 days function of Santosham, Chiranjeevi gave a sweet compliment to Nagarjuna by quoting that Nagarjuna speaks less, but there is real sense and good judgment in whatever little Nag speaks. The same Nagarjuna spoke at the audio function of Manmadhudu that 'Ninna night cinema choosaanu. Raasistunnanu. Manmadhudu superhit!'. His prophecy turned out to be true when Manmadhudu opened in cinema halls with hit talk on the first day. Though it is too early to predict the fate, Manmadhudu would surely become a blockbuster at Box Office.

Hits
(All distributors made comfortable money in these films- in chronological order)

1. O Chinnadana:
Srikanth started his new year with a decent hit like O Chinnadana. EVV's protégé Sathibabu proved himself as a capable comedy director with his perfect comedy timing in hilarious episodes like 'Pinni'. Brahmanandam too made a mark in this film as 'Hyderabad'. Started with average talk, this film went on to become a hit.

2. Santosham:
This film has become a welcome break for Nagarjuna from consecutive flops. The debutant director's hardwork paid off as family crowds embraced this film with both hands. RP Patnaik's music and Usha's mellifluous play back singing (Ne Toli Saariga) helped the narration of Santosham. The range of this film could have been much bigger, if the video piracy had been prevented. Santosham is the big victim of video piracy.

3. Allari:
The small time villain - Ravi Babu - tried his hand at direction with a funky youth film titled Allari. This comedy oriented youth love story has hit well with the masses. Made on a budget of 80 lakhs, this film fetched 1 on 1 profit to all the buyers. Even D Suresh Babu - the co producer of this film - was caught unawares as he written this film off as a flop before its release. This film has successfully launched EVV's younger son Naresh as hero. The brand value and perfect publicity planning of Suresh Movies distribution network helped Allari to reap it's much-deserved fruits.

6. Avunu Valliddaru Ista Paddaru:
Vamsi came back after six years hiatus in style with 'Avunu Valliddaru Ista Paddaru'. Though, it's an above average film - several factors helped this film to achieve success. First and foremost reason is the nativity touch given by creative genius Vamsy. Chakri's soulful music, perfect casting and Gemini TV's promotion also helped this film immensely.

7. Nuvve Nuvve:
Started with a flop talk, this film achieved a hit status by the time it reached 50 days. Successful dialogue writer Trivikram tested his hand at direction with this film. The brilliant dialogue work by Trivikram is a highlight of the film, though it has become too high for a common movie lover to digest. But the success of this film is no way comparable to the recent hits came from Sravanthi banner.

EVV took a break and made this film when everybody ditched him because of the latest flop record. He took it in positive way to produce and direct Thottigang. He introduced direct selling system through this film and is reaping the benefits of the same. The five separate comedy tracks, three comedy heroes and heroine Gajala have become plus points.

8. Khadgam
Krishna Vamsi has pulled off a victory with Khadgam. The Muslim-bashing controversy and the subsequent protests have made this film hot among the crowds and hit at the box office. Krishna Vamsi has taken the route of raising the emotional levels of latent patriotism that is presented in every Indian.

Average Films
(distributor-safe films - in chronological order)

1. Kalusukovalani
Uday Kiran's lady luck was still in tact when a mediocre film like 'Kalusukovalani' has withstood the negative talk. The premature death of heroine Pratyusha helped this film immensely to draw sympathetic crowds to the theater. Devi Sri Prasad's music is the best thing to happen to Kalusukovalani..

2. Action No.1:
Sagar's low budget action thriller 'Action No.1' has become a good hit in B and C centers. The twin stunt masters Ram-Lakshman were introduced as heroes. Director Sagar injected all mass elements to make this film appeal to the frontbenchers.

4. Manasunte Chaalu
Usha Kiron Movies does not hesitate to make films that highlight burning social issues. This film is revolves around a heroine who got raped. R Narayana Murthy - the comrade of Telugu cinema - has attempted another red film and made it a successful venture. With the success of this film, R Narayana Murthy grabbed two offers (Bheemudu and Gorilla) from outside banners. 6. Sreeram
Uday Kiran's attempt to establish himself as action hero boomeranged as people gave verdict that they want to see Uday Kiran as a romantic hero. This film generated good openings. Uday Kiran's Nee Sneham started its journey as a hit film. The talk of this film for the first two days was terrific. But as the days passed by, the crowds became thinner. Then the trade circle realized that there is something amiss in this well-made film. This film would have been termed as hit, if the producer sold it for reasonable prices. But Nee Sneham was bought for high prices because of Manasanta Nuvve (same producer, music director, scriptwriter and hero).
