Nara Rohit likes to build his career as a normal youngster despite being related to stalwarts like Nara Chandra Babu Naidu and Nandamuri Bala Krishna. He is down-to-earth and willing to learn. He has got pretty good appreciation for his work in Baanam and his second film Solo is more like a mainstream commercial film. Solo is all set to release on 25 November. Here are the excerpts of the chitchat -

What is the feedback you have got about your debut film Baanam?
The response from critics was good. However, the commercial result was not encouraging in theatrical run. TV screenings fetched great viewership and was appreciated by everybody who watched it. They felt that my voice was good and they also liked the realistic action sequences in the movie.

Why is there so much gap after your debut film?
I had many projects in hand, but they didn’t materialize. I have committed Solo film in August 2010. We started the shoot in March 2011. In between I was supposed to do a Gowtam Menon’s film, but didn’t take off.

What is the difference between your character in Banam and Solo?
My role in Baanam was intense. The Solo character is more like that of a playful guy. I had mustache in Baanam and no mustache in Solo.

What is the reason for accepting Solo?
I had a bit of apprehension when Parasuram approached me, because I want to do sensible films. Parasuram had done films with mass orientation so far. But I was thoroughly impressed when he narrated me the script. I play the role Gowtam - an orphan who works as a software engineer. He has certain specifications for the girl he wants to marry. The entire film is all about what happens when he comes across such a girl.

I am a reserved guy and an introvert in personal life. But the character in Solo is entertaining and spontaneous. My travel with Bujji has helped me in understanding the character better. I played the role confidently.

What is the USP of Solo?
The best part of the film are dialogues by Parasuram. There will be a lot of sensible dialogues along with entertainment oriented one-liners. As the title suggests it’s not a solo film, but a complete family entertainer.

Will Pasaruram get a makeover with this movie?
Yes. Just imagine how it will be like if Puri Jagan were to direct Bommarillu? The Solo film will give you that feeling. The characterization is borrowed from Puri Jagan’s films (as Parasuram is Puri Jagan’s protege) and content will be heart-touching like in Bommarillu.

What is the reaction of censor board members after watching Solo?
They said that they have watched a good film after a long gap and they liked amazing lines by Parasuram.

How do you plan your career?
Baanam has got me good name and I don’t want to do insensible films. Whatever the genre is, I plan to do films that are sensible. I want to have different get-up for each film. The audiences should be able to remember the title of film by looking at the get-up.

What are your future projects?
I am doing an action thriller in the direction of Srinivas Raga (Katha director). It is a regular story with a new-formatted screenplay. I am also going to do a film for Ravi Vallabhaneni (Producer of Prasthanam). Most probably, both these films will be shot simultaneously.
