Music director Chakri shared his feelings about Maska film.

Maska music:
Producer MS Raju is known for his quality in filmmaking. He gives ample time to the technicians to extract the best. I finished the rerecording of the film on 7 January. I worked over six months for songs and background music. MS Raju did not accept any of my tunes for three months. We tried various locations in ooty, Kerala, Goa and Hyderabad for music sittings of Maska.

‘Gunde Godarila’ was the first song that is accepted for this film. Aa vaipunna ee vaipunna is the second song. kalloki dilloki and Maska meri jaan are the most difficult songs to do. Kandikonda got a single card a big film like Maska for the first time. He has shown variations in his lyrics. I hired technicians from Mumbai and Chennai for doing the re-recording of this film. We completed re-recording in 15 days.

Ram dominates my songs
I scored fast-beat songs for Devadas film which was Ram’s debut. But Ram’s dances dominated the music of Devadas. Hence I took it more challenging to score music for Maska with more pep and energy.

Sankranthi luck
My films became blockbusters for Sankranthi in the past four years starting with Satyam (2005), Devadas (2006), Desamuduru (2007) and Krishna (2008). I am sure that the tradition will continue with Maska in 2009.

Seenu Vytla clarified that the music director character in King is not you. Are you hurt?
I have not seen King film. My staff have seen it and told me that the music director character is not inspired by me. Seenu Vytla also declared in a press meet that it’s not me. Why should I worry about it. Seenu Vytla called me four days after organizing press meet and talked to me. I am not hurt with this episode.

What are the films you are doing now?
I am doing Gopi Gopika Godavari (Vamsi direction), Sare Nee Istam (Chandra Mahesh) and Babloo.

What is the reason that you are not getting many projects though you give good music?
Because I lack the tactics possessed by other music directors. I am not manipulative. I am a clean and fair guy. I feel that I should keep getting movies as long as my music is good.
