Bhumika Chawla donned the new role of producer in Thakita Thakita’ movie. She has also acted in the movie as a lecturer. Bhumika talks about her passion for movies and books in this exclusive interview. Here are the excerpts -

How is the new role of the producer?
I am involved in creative aspects (especiallu scripting and editing) of filmmaking. But I would give the entire credit of production for Thakita Thakita to my husband Bharat Thakur.

Tell us about the role you played on the screen?
It is a guest role. I am doing the role of teacher for the first time in my career. There are two scenes in the movie that I liked personally. This movie has subtle message for the parents and children.

Which one excites you the most – acting or filmmaking?
Acting does excite me all the time. Production is a big challenge to us and it is a huge process. I learnt a lot about filmmaking through Thakita Thakita. Moviemaking is a big challenge because we are responsible for the whole film.

What do you do in free time?
I love to read books. I do paint. I love adventure sports and I had done hiking, para sailing, para jumping, underwater walking etc.

Bharat Thakur told me that you have a huge library of DVDs and books?
I am extremely passionate about movies. There were times when I watched four movies continuously without a break. I have a collection of 4000 DVDs and 3000 books. It is becoming extremely difficult to stack them.

What are your favourite movies?
I love Forrest Gump, Pretty Woman, Notting Hill, Kagaj Ke Phool (Guru Dutt), It’s a wonderful life, Gone with the wind and Schindler’s List. There are many instances where the novels I read went on to be made into movies. ‘Eat Pray and Love’ (Julia Roberts) is one such later book being made into a movie. I want to see a book titled ‘A winner stands alone’ to be made into a movie.

How much time will it take for you to complete reading a book?
I do generally take around 2 days to complete a book. There are certain books I take months to complete due to readers-block. I do write too.

How did you celebrate your birthday (20 August)?
Spending time with family is like a celebration to me. I spent time with my mother and Bharat Thakur. They matter the most to me.

What are your future plans?
I am a kind of human being who gets bored very easily. I want to do many things. Currently I am doing Collector Gari Bharya film and a Tamil movie. I am currently writing a Hindi poetry book and will complete it by the next year.
