Story

Jayammu Nischayammu Raa jeevi review
Sarvamangalam (Srinivasa Reddy), a 30+ unemployed man from Karimnagar gets a government job in Kakinada. He firmly believes that he got job because he followed the instructions of Pitha - a baba (Jeeva). He also believes that he got the job because he saw Rani (Poorna) for the first time in a market. Sarvamangalam wants to get transferred to Karimnagar so that he can take care of his single mother. Rani also works in a nearby office in Kakinada. He has two fold plan of making Rani fall in love and to get himself transferred to Karimnagar. Rest of the story is all about how he achieved these targets despite several obstacles.

Artists Performance

Jayammu Nischayammu Raa jeevi reviewActors: Srinivas Reddy has made sure that he is appreciated whichever role he does from the time he got noticed with Idiot film. He has chosen the role of a sincere underdog (which is not a caricature) to make his debut as hero. A character you sympathise with and it slowly wins over your heart with goodness. He has performed so well that he hid the comedian inside except for a few entertainment scenes. Poorna fits well in a role of a good-hearted girl and she performed well. Ravi Varma gets a negative role of a womanizer and he succeeds in making us hate him. Sree Vishnu is perfect as a street-smart youngster and a smooth-talker. Posani Krishna Murali entertains as a law-abiding poojari who wants to get his work done without bribing anybody. Praveen is very good as agent who dupes people for his commission. Krishna Bhagawan’s mangalavaram comedy worked very well with masses. Krishnudu plays a caring brother to the heroine. Tagubothu Ramesh gives a special appearance in climax.

Technical departments

Jayammu Nischayammu Raa jeevi reviewStory - screenplay - direction: It’s nice of the debutant director who has openly mentioned about his inspirations for the film in this note. The thread of Srinivasa Reddy renting room out for boss Ravi Varma is inspired by Billy Wilder’s classic ‘The Apartment (1960)’, which also inspired Bollywood hit film ‘Life in a Metro (2007)’. Despite having inspiration, Shiva Raj Kanumuri made sure each and every character is etched with originality. He chooses a story that has potential by mixing village comedy with personality development aspect. He is a promising prospect for Telugu film industry if he can correct a few things in his narrative style and screenplay. Slow-paced narration is a dampner. He tried to follow Vamsi kind of comedy with Krishna Bhagawan’s Mangalavaram thread. The way he has used Attarinti Daaredi film to show timeline is very creative. He sets up the plot well in the beginning, but screenplay lets it down later. Brahmanandam memes are effectively used in government office’s whatsapp group. The intention of the director are genuine and tried his best to balance the message (self confidence) with entertainment. You can find amateurishness in the film because the director has treated this film like an independent film in terms of production and technical quality.

Jayammu Nischayammu Raa jeevi reviewOther departments: Dialogues are written well. Cinematography is alright. O Rangula Chiluka song is excellent. Background music is okay, but mixing is not done properly (may be due to sound sytem in theater I watched). Editing should have been better. Production values are okay.

Jayammu Nischayammu Raa jeevi reviewAnalysis: The movie starts off on a promising note by establishing the plot point. But loses steam through half way. The second half has entertaining moments (especially Krishna Bhagawan’s) and pay-off episodes (hero taking revenge on people who made him a fool). However, The narration is not smooth and is slow due to uninteresting scenes coming in between. Plus points of the film are story, characterizations, simplicity and entertainment in second half. On the flipside, inconsistent screenplay, excessive runtime(2 Hours 41 minutes), amateurishness and slow narration doesn’t help the movie. This film offers good entertainment for the masses in second half. On a whole, It’s a decent debut for director Shiva Raj Kanumuri and Srinivasa Reddy (as hero), but not satisfactory enough!
