George Reddy (Sandeep Madhav) joins Osmania University as a physics student in late 1960’s. The college campus is divided by upper and lower class with upper class student leaders demeaning lower class students. The student politics are divided between the two groups which are supported by two political ideologies/parties. None of these two parties have any leftist ideologies. George Reddy supports and stands for the oppressed students. In the process, he becomes a big leader of students and he goes to the extent of influencing college campuses of metro cities across India. The rest of the story is about how his enemies kill him. 
Actors: Sandeep Madhav who has made a mark for himself with an interesting portrayal of slain leader Ranga in Vangaveeti film acts again in another biopic of a slain student leader George Reddy after a gap of 3 years. Director Jeevan Reddy who is a personal friend of Sandeep Madhav has made sure that he has used the strengths and personality of Sandeep Madhav to maximum effect. You fall in love with the characterization of George Reddy and the way Sandeep Madhav carried the character so convincingly. He exudes charm. Satyadev Kancharana is good as student leader, but his character doesn't have a closure. Muskaan Khubchandani is alright as the girl who falls for George. Abhay Bethiganti is very good as a hot blooded student who fights against atrocities. Yadamma Raju provides entertainment as Ram Naik with his unusual body language. Chaitanya Krishna and Manoj Nandan suited their roles as student leaders of other parties. Devika Daftardar is excellent as a mother who supports her son despite knowing inherent dangers. Sanjay Reddy had done the role of a college lecturer. All the actors cast in the film appear natural and it resulted in showing the film in a genuine light.
Story - screenplay - direction: Jeevan Reddy has taken the timeline of George Reddy and narrated the story in an interesting way in the first half. He has established all character well and succeeded in juxtaposing fun camaraderie and serious elements convincingly in the first half. However, he couldn't get the ante up in the second half and didn’t get the emotional conflicts right towards climax. The conflicts between 3 groups in second half should have been more interesting. May be the director has a pressure to dumb down a few things about the two groups with whom George Reddy fights. The director has also created a few cinematic moments in the fighting style of George Reddy (blades, kerchiefs and burning football). The emotional scenes between George Reddy and her single mother are scripted pretty well with less dialogues. Interval sequence deserves a special mention.
Other departments: Background music by Harshavardhan Rameshwar has brought life to the film. Songs scored by Suresh Bebbuli are alright. Cinematography by Sudhakar Reddy Yakkanti has given realistic period look. Dialogues written are powerful when needed and have a sprinkle of light humor. Editing by J Prathap Kumar is fine. Art director has succeeded in recreating 1970s. Action choreography is effective and innovative. Production values by Mic Movies, Three Line Cinemas and SillyMonk Studios are decent.
Analysis: The director Jeevan Reddy and the producers of George Reddy should be appreciated for bringing the life of George Reddy onto the screen to immortalise it. Story of George Reddy should be known to everybody. A couple of films has tried to use him as a basis for the characters in their films (Bhanu Chandar character in Alajadi and Suriya character in Manirathnam’s Yuva) in the past. This is the first biopic based on George Reddy. This film is an honest (though fights look pretty commercial and certain aspects are diluted for the sake of censor board) take. Though film becomes little overbearing in second half, it’s worth a watch as an ode to such a great student leader.
